An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated support worker to work within Central Assertive Outreach Team, a busy community mental health team working across culturally diverse areas.
Assertive Outreach Teams typically work with people who have severe and enduring mental illnesses, who have a history of poor engagement with mental health services and often have co-morbid substance use factors. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their ability to build rapport and therapeutic relationships with service users.
This position would be suitable for a person with experience of working within a mental health setting, with NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
We work with adults 25 years plus and support people who have historically avoided contact with mental health services and do this using a flexible and creative approach to engagement.
You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, demonstrate competent risk management skills and have a genuine interest in working with service users with severe and enduring mental health issues, and their carers.
You will need to demonstrate a commitment to achieving the highest standards of care whilst utilising the care programme approach framework and displaying your ability to work autonomously as well as being an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
In return we can offer a friendly and supportive multi disciplinary environment in which to develop through training opportunities, regular individual and group supervision and a supportive team ethos.
