Job summary

Hilton Cardiff is recruiting a Back Of House Assistant to join our Truly Talented team. You will help ensure everything runs smoothly in the back of house, from receiving deliveries to maintaining cleanliness and stock control across kitchen, housekeeping and ancillary areas.

The role requires flexibility in hours and the right to work in the UK, with benefits including employee discounts, holiday entitlement and opportunities for progression within Axiom Hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check deliveries for Kitchen and Housekeeping, ensuring items are stored correctly and any issues are reported promptly.
• Read and process delivery notes, invoices and other relevant documentation accurately
• Support basic stock control, including stock rotation, organisation of storage areas and reporting low stock or discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness of back of house corridors, stairwells and communal areas.
• Clean and maintain male and female changing rooms to a high standard.
• Ensure back of house lifts are kept clean, tidy and well maintained.

Back Of House & Facilities Responsibilities

• Receive and check deliveries for Kitchen and Housekeeping, ensuring items are stored correctly and any issues are reported promptly.
• Read and process delivery notes, invoices and other relevant documentation accurately
• Support basic stock control, including stock rotation, organisation of storage areas and reporting low stock or discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness of back of house corridors, stairwells and communal areas.
• Clean and maintain male and female changing rooms to a high standard.
• Ensure back of house lifts are kept clean, tidy and well maintained.
• Carry out daily management and cleanliness checks of the ramp area.
• Complete scheduled deep cleaning of the ramp area and other back of house areas as required.
• Support with ad hoc back of house tasks as directed by the management team.
• Set up the staff canteen for lunch and dinner service.
• Maintain the staff canteen to the highest standards of cleanliness throughout service periods.
• Maintain and organise back of house store cupboards, including chef stores, chemical stores and cellar areas.
• Keep back of house office spaces clean and tidy, including hoovering, emptying bins and general housekeeping
• Follow all health, safety, hygiene and COSHH procedures when handling deliveries, chemicals, waste and cleaning equipment.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, spillages or cleanliness concerns promptly.
• Work collaboratively with Kitchen, Housekeeping, Maintenance and People & Culture teams to support smooth back of house operations.
