Job summary

Hilton Cardiff in Cardiff is seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant on a fixed-term basis. The role involves preparing and serving beverages, ensuring tables are ready, and delivering friendly guest service in a busy hotel environment.

The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality, strong teamwork, and good knowledge of food hygiene. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Passion for the Hospitality Industry.
• Experience in a busy restaurant or bar environment is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent personal presentation and professional appearance.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages as requested by guests.
• Ensure tables are set and ready for guests at all times.
• Take and execute guests' orders promptly.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in Food & Beverage outlets.
• Have good knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Answer guests’ questions about the menu, wait times and product availability.
• Communicate any dietary needs and special requests with the teams.

Your role

You will work closely with the food and beverage leadership team in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the Hotel and the satisfaction of guests.

Responsibilities of Food & Beverage Assistant will include but are not limited to:

• Preparing and serving any beverages requested by guests;


• Ensuring that all tables are set and ready for welcoming guests at all times;


• Ensuring that all guests’ orders are taken and executed in a timely manner;


• Ensuring that cleanliness is kept at the highest standard at all times in the Food & Beverage Outlets;


• Having good knowledge of the food and beverage menu;


• Responding to guests’ queries on the menu selection;


• Communicating any guests’ questions on the menu, the length of wait and product availability with the Food & Beverage and Kitchen teams, as well as any additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the teams accordingly.

The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details and trusting.

The Core Skills And Experience Required To Succeed

• Truly passionate about the Hospitality Industry;


• Previous restaurant or bar experience in a busy environment is preferred but not essential;


• Excellent personal presentation;


• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures;


• Ability to function independently with a minimum of supervision;


• Excellent communication skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing ;


• To be an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach.
