Job summary

Genomics England is hiring a Platform Engineer to design, build and optimise our AWS cloud platform. You will work in the Cloud Platform Team to deliver scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure and pipelines.

You will guide automation, IaC, and governance while empowering application teams with self-service capabilities and best-practice patterns in a mission-critical healthcare tech environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as Platform/Cloud Engineer or similar in a DevOps setting.
• At least 2 years' commercial AWS experience; certifications are a plus.
• Solid experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a DevOps team to drive automation and continuous improvement.
• Own and enhance AWS infrastructure for scalability, security, and reliability.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD) and IaC deployments.
• Contribute to cloud governance, cost management and security best practices.
• Mentor teams in cloud best practices and enable self-service platforms.
