Job summary

Bioptimus is building the first universal AI foundation model for biology and seeks a Senior Platform Engineer — Cloud & Developer Experience to own the AWS foundation, IaC, and self‑service tooling. This is a remote role and you’ll work to provide a scalable, secure, and cost‑aware platform for researchers and engineers.

You will build pipelines, guardrails, and reusable infrastructure while collaborating with research to scale compute and data workflows.

Qualifications

Proficiency in AWS with hands-on production experience.
Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
Kubernetes and container orchestration experience.
Strong CI/CD and developer-experience instincts.
Security engineering with IAM, secrets management, least-privilege.
Strong networking across cloud and hybrid environments.
Platform-as-a-product mindset; ship opinionated defaults.
Solid software engineering in Python or Go.

Responsibilities

Own the cloud foundation: design, build, and own AWS architecture and Terraform/IaC definitions.
Build the self-service platform to enable engineers to provision, deploy, and ship with minimal friction.
Own CI/CD and deployment fabric, ensuring reliable model and SDK deployment to cloud and on‑prem environments.
Engineer security and networking into the platform with IAM, secrets, and least-privilege defaults.
Set architecture standards and decide what becomes platform vs. experiment.
Make the platform observable and cost-aware with metrics, alerts, and cost visibility.
Support research at scale by enabling self-serve workflows while not owning research‑infra execution.
