Job summary

Abcam, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Cloud Platform Lead to drive cloud engineering, automation, and platform improvements from Cambridge. You will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, and SRE to deliver scalable AWS-based solutions and reusable deployment pipelines.

The role emphasizes IaC adoption, governance, and secure automated provisioning, with hybrid work arrangements for global operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Cloud, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering.
• 2+ years' experience leading engineering teams or providing technical leadership.
• Strong experience designing, building, and operating AWS platforms in enterprise environments with strong understanding of cloud networking, connectivity, and identity management.
• Experience supporting business-critical production platforms.
• AWS and/or Kubernetes certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver enhancements across networking, identity, connectivity, compute, storage, and container platforms. Implement governance, resilience, recoverability, and operational readiness requirements.
• Lead Infrastructure as Code adoption using Terraform and CloudFormation. Drive GitOps and automation-first practices while reducing manual processes.
• Ensure infrastructure provisioning is automated, repeatable, version-controlled, and secure.
• Build and maintain reusable modules, templates, and deployment pipelines.
• Establish engineering quality standards for infrastructure code.
