Job description

Audio Visual Engineer / AV Installation Engineer

Location: Huddersfield (covering Manchester, Leeds & Sheffield)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

About Us

We're partnering a leading provider of high-impact AV solutions in the retail, corporate, and leisure industries. With a strong reputation for innovation and quality, we deliver sophisticated installations - from video walls and LED displays to digital signage - and provide ongoing maintenance through SLA-driven contracts. Joining us means working on projects that truly make a difference, backed by a supportive, technically driven team.

Your Role

As an Audio Visual Engineer, you'll be instrumental in delivering best-in-class AV systems throughout the UK. On any given week, you might be:

  • Installing and commissioning projection systems, LED displays (internal & external), video walls, and digital signage.
  • Configuring and maintaining LED displays using Novastar software.
  • Setting up and troubleshooting CMS platforms, audio systems, and networked AV components.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.
  • Capturing project data, recording updates, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Proposing improvements to standard methods, processes, or tools.
  • Working alongside project managers and operations to keep clients informed and satisfied.
What the Client is looking for

They believe the right person for this role will:

  • Have 2+ years' experience working in AV (ideally with projection, LED/video walls, digital signage, CMS).
  • Be confident with IT and networking fundamentals.
  • Demonstrate strong fault-finding skills and technical problem-solving.
  • Be detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Possess a full, clean driving licence and be willing to travel regularly.
  • Bring leadership qualities - mentoring or guiding less-experienced team members when needed.
  • Communicate clearly - both with customers and internally.
What the Client offer
  • £30,000 to £35,000 per annum
  • Real opportunity to work on technically complex and interesting AV projects.
  • Professional development and career growth - learning new technologies, mentoring, and hands-on training.
  • A collaborative, inclusive team culture - "you" focused, not just "the role".
  • Travel allowance or reimbursement (as per company policy).
Why You Should Apply
  • Impact: Build AV systems that power retail experiences in major UK cities.
  • Growth: Develop your skills in a specialist technical role, with real ownership of projects.
  • Flexibility: Base in Huddersfield with regional coverage (Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield) - you'll get variety, but also stability.
  • Culture: Be part of a forward-thinking, supportive team where your input matters.
