Job summary

Saab UK seeks a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, test and deploy safety-critical flight control software for autonomous and manned aircraft. You will work with MATLAB/Simulink to create control laws and data-processing algorithms, validate them with simulations, and perform real-world flight testing at our facility near Bedford.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in aerospace engineering.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics and their impact on flight control.
• Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on experience designing and commissioning control systems.
• Existing SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety-critical flight control software for aircraft systems.
• Verify and validate using bespoke simulations before deployment.
• Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real-world flight tests near the office.
• Contribute to development of standards, processes and continuous improvement.
