Job summary

Saab UK in Bedfordshire is hiring a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop and test safety-critical software for aircraft flight systems. You will work with MATLAB/Simulink, deploy to hardware and perform real-world flight tests near the office, reporting findings in reports and presentations.

You will collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment, contribute to standard operating procedures, and pursue continuous improvement of methods to ensure quality targets.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for developing algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on experience designing and commissioning control systems.
• Experience with safety standards for software (DO-178, ED-20x).
• Knowledge of sensing systems and real-time embedded hardware.
• Existing SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety-critical flight control software for aircraft systems.
• Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real-world flight tests at our facility.
• Contribute to requirements definition and verification/validation using simulations.
• Prepare reports and customer-facing presentations on test results.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and help improve processes.
