Job summary

SAAB UK is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer in Bedfordshire to develop, maintain and test safety critical flight software for autonomous systems. You will use MATLAB/Simulink to create control laws and data processing routines, then deploy to hardware and carry out flight tests near the office.

You will define requirements, verify with bespoke simulations, and present findings. A team-based environment focuses on quality targets and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm development.
• Experience with control systems design and real-time/embedded software.
• National Security Vetting clearance to SC level or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety-critical flight control software.
• Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real world flight tests.
• Contribute to requirements definition and generate reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and improve processes.
