Job summary

Consett Medical Centre is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to manage a clinical caseload, delivering high-quality patient care with autonomous prescribing within the primary care team.

You will lead nurse-led access for acute conditions, triage and treat patients, and collaborate with GPs and the wider healthcare team. Registration with NMC and prescriber status (or working towards) are required.

Qualifications

• NMC registration and current practice status.
• Prescriber status or working towards it.
• Minimum 2 years primary care experience unsupervised.
• Ability to work autonomously in a demanding primary care setting.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage a clinical caseload from history taking to diagnosis, treatment and evaluation.
• Prescribe from formulary and refer to GPs as necessary.
• Lead provision of nurse access for acute clinical conditions.
• Provide clinical leadership within the practice when required.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are recognised and referred as appropriate.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audits and quality assurance.
