Job summary

Halfords Group PLC is offering an Autocentre Apprentice position in Montrose, Angus. The role covers servicing, inspections and complex repairs across various makes and models.

You will develop skills through hands-on practice and college training, with a focus on diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high standard. The programme includes 5 days working week with 1 day at college (day release), 40 hours per week, and a competitive apprentice wage of £8.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (Or Equivalents).
• Friendly, team-oriented with a strong desire to build a career as an Auto Vehicle Technician.
• Interest in cars and solving problems.
• Able to use hands and have a strong and fit attitude to work due to the manual work involved.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Learn across the workshop from safety to servicing, inspection, maintenance and diagnostics.
• Work on a range of vehicles and use diagnostic methods and equipment.
• Communicate with colleagues and mentors to diagnose and repair faults to a high standard.
