Job summary

ATA Recruitment is seeking a Sales Manager (Engineering & Automation) in Nottinghamshire to lead high-value automation projects from qualification to order. You will collaborate with design and project teams to craft technical solutions, build costs, and present tenders to clients.

You will manage key accounts, negotiate contracts, and drive opportunities within logistics, warehousing, and automation sectors. Hybrid working is available, with a preference for regular office presence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience selling capital equipment, automation, or complex engineered solutions.
• Strong relationship-building and senior-level account management skills.
• Experience with tenders, pricing and commercial negotiations.
• Self-sufficient, commercially driven with a proactive approach to business development.

Responsibilities

• Own high-value automation tenders from qualification through to order.
• Develop new opportunities and manage key customer accounts.
• Work with design and project teams to develop and price bespoke solutions.
• Prepare and present tenders and commercial proposals.
• Negotiate contracts, protecting margin and managing commercial risk.
• Visit customer sites to identify upcoming projects and build relationships.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast.
• Manage the handover of successful projects to the delivery team.
