Job summary

Premier Foods’ Stoke-on-Trent Mr Kipling bakery invites applications for a Multi Skilled Engineer. You’ll join a small team, reporting to the Engineering Manager on shifts that run 12-hour days and nights on a 4x4 cycle, with potential overtime to meet production needs.

You’ll support design, installation and commissioning, ensure equipment runs efficiently to high quality, and mentor colleagues while pushing continuous improvement and right‑first‑time maintenance across the site.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (ONC/HNC).
• Experience in automated manufacturing environments and working with electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Willingness to work a 4x4 shift pattern with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

• Advise on design, installation and commissioning of projects and small initiatives.
• Ensure plant and equipment operate to high quality and efficiency standards.
• Support training of engineers and improve knowledge of automated machinery.
• Maximise utilisation of equipment to hit KPIs and safety/quality policies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for quality, safety and waste reduction.
• Support shift maintenance strategy towards proactive, Right First Time approach.
