Job summary

Allied Bakeries in Stoke is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on proactive and reactive maintenance of plant and site services at a major bakery, with emphasis on improving OEE and delivering reliable operations.

You will diagnose automation, electrical and mechanical issues, lead safety practices, and drive continuous improvement through projects and coaching of operators and fellow engineers.

Qualifications

• HNC in electrical, automation or multiskilled engineering is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
• Team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing automation, electrical and mechanical issues to resolve breakdowns.
• Deliver continuous improvement initiatives and safe maintenance.
• Lead timely and cost-efficient turn-key improvement projects.
• Support and train operators and other engineers.
• Ensure health and safety is the priority and drive site performance.

Job description

We have an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Stoke. The role of a Maintenance Engineer is a varied and challenging one. You will be expected to identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives alongside proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and site services associated with a major bakery.

What You'll Be Doing

• Focusing on safe working practices and site performance KPI's including OEE and CCOs.
• Diagnosing and correcting automation, electrical and mechanical issues to resolve breakdown situations.
• Ensuring our engineering strategy is delivered consistently.
• Delivering turn-key improvement projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Driving the performance of the Engineering function forward.

Safety always comes first at Allied Bakeries. We are looking for someone to lead by example by ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority and engage others to always think and behave safely. A team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to train, coach and assist operators and other engineers. A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an electrical, automation or multiskilled engineering discipline is desirable, supported by suitable experience. An enthusiastic and motivated individual, with a passion for continuous improvement, you will be flexible and co-operative to meet business needs.
