Job summary

The Graduate Network is looking for a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism and SEMH needs in a specialist school. You will work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils engage positively, build confidence, and access learning.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in an SEN-related subject and a genuine interest in supporting pupil progress. This role offers meaningful experience before progressing into educational or clinical psychology.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Desire to pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism or SEMH needs through 1:1 work and small-group intervention.
• Help pupils access learning and regulate behaviour.
• Build confidence and engage pupils positively in the school setting.

Skills

Clear and confident verbal and written communication

Ability to build trust through consistency

Patience in a busy SEN setting

Education

Degree in an SEN related subject (2:2 or above)
