Job summary

AMA Admin is seeking Autism Learning Mentors to support children with Autism in partner SEND schools in Consett. The role focuses on emotional regulation, engagement, and personalised education within a therapeutic, holistic setting.

You will work with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams, following a structured environment, Forest School and sensory-based activities. Hours are 8:45am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or vulnerable adults.
• Two recent references required (work-based or voluntary).
• Enhanced DBS Update Service or willing to apply for one through Milk.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with Autism in classroom and school environment.
• Implement personalised strategies to support emotional regulation, engagement, and learning.
• Support pupils during therapeutic, outdoor, and Forest School activities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, SLT, and on-site therapists to deliver consistent support.
• Monitor progress and adapt approaches to meet individual needs.
• Contribute to pastoral care, ensuring pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
• Communicate progress with parents and carers, sharing successes.
