Job summary

Cooper Parry in Birmingham is recruiting an Audit Trainee to start in September 2027. You will work on statutory audits for a varied client base, gaining hands-on experience from day one and building skills that matter.

You’ll study for ACA while you work, supported by your team and our Student Support Manager. Graduates need a degree and at least 3 A Levels (BBC) including a numerical or business subject; school leavers follow the same A Level requirements.

Qualifications

• Completed degree by start date and at least 3 A Levels at BBC, including numerical or business subject.
• School leavers: same A Level requirements.
• Aspiration to pursue ACA qualification while working.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing client information such as invoices, bank statements and payroll reports.
• Assessing accuracy and reliability of financial data.
• Attending client year-end stocktakes (weekends/near Christmas).
• Communicating with client finance teams to understand their systems and processes.
• Assisting in preparing financial statements using audit software.
• Working in small teams on financial testing and audit reports.
• Meeting deadlines and supporting the team to deliver high-quality work.
