Overview

Audio Visual Installation Engineer – Smart Home Automation, Residential

Location: North London (covering projects across London and surrounding areas). Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum. Contract: Full-time, permanent.

Are you an experienced Audio Visual & Home Automation Engineer looking to take your career to the next level? Our client, a leading Smart Home Automation company based in North London, is expanding its team and seeking a skilled engineer with strong technical knowledge and a passion for delivering exceptional installations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, high-end residential systems, and bespoke solutions for discerning clients. You'll be joining a close-knit team that takes pride in delivering outstanding projects to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
  • Installing and configuring multi-room audio-visual systems, home cinema setups, and smart home automation solutions.
  • Installing and mounting large TVs, projector equipment, and associated hardware.
  • Building, wiring, and labelling AV racks to a professional, neat, and efficient standard.
  • Terminating and testing Cat5/6 cables, sockets, and networked equipment.
  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting issues across AV, networking, and control systems.
  • Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Ensuring all installations meet health & safety requirements and follow industry best practices.
  • Providing a high level of customer service and professionalism on-site.
Skills & Experience
  • 2-3 years' experience within the AV / Home Automation industry.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in multiroom AV systems, home cinema, and automation technologies.
  • Proven ability to install, connect, and configure audio-visual equipment.
  • Competence in terminating Cat5/6 cables and general networking knowledge.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Good practical ability and understanding of construction procedures.
  • High standards of workmanship with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently, remain calm under pressure, and deliver results to deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • ECS card (essential).
