Job summary

Charles Darwin Primary School and Nursery in Norwich is seeking an Attendance Officer to join our team. Based in the main school office, you will promote attendance and punctuality, support pupils with casework, and liaise with families and agencies to intervene as needed.

You will have GCSEs in Maths and English, be IT literate, and capable of managing deadlines with strong communication. The role is 37 hours per week, 39 weeks, from November 2026, with generous benefits through Inspiration

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at minimum or equivalent.
• Experience in monitoring attendance and punctuality of pupils.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Good communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• IT literate and able to use school reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Be based in the main school office.
• Promote high levels of attendance and punctuality and advise on policies.
• Support pupils’ educational development and manage individual casework.
• Ensure attendance data is accurate and up-to-date; monitor register keeping.
• Liaise with DSL to address safeguarding needs of pupils.
• Organise and attend attendance panel meetings as required.
• Provide administrative support to staff and pupils.
• Oversee electives/clubs provision and lunch duty supervision.
