Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate/ Technical Director to lead groundwater and water resources projects across the UK. You will guide hydrogeologists, shape capabilities, and drive delivery from inception to completion.

In this role you will mentor junior colleagues, manage frameworks, and collaborate with international WSP teams to deliver integrated solutions for high-profile projects in the water resources sector.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in groundwater and water environment assessment, including modelling, EIA and site investigation.
• Deep understanding of UK hydrogeology and regulatory framework for water management.
• Proven ability to lead projects from inception to delivery, with financial and programme management.
• Experience with framework delivery and winning repeat business.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with senior stakeholder engagement.
• Chartered status or equivalent senior standing; MSc Hydrogeology plus related BSc.

Responsibilities

• Lead major groundwater and water resources projects and direct interdisciplinary teams.
• Shape the future capability of groundwater services and mentor junior staff.
• Influence technical direction of a national team and collaborate with senior leaders.
• Prepare high quality proposals and maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate across disciplines and international WSP colleagues to deliver outcomes.
