Job description

Triple West Medical have been appointed by an NHS Trust based in the Manchester area to help recruit an Associate Specialist / Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adults on a substantive or FTC bases.

The Trust is one of the largest on the UK with over 5000 staff offering a range of physical and mental health needs. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and friendly department of Psychiatrists whose service include inpatient, community services, specialist services, and emergency services.

Brief Duties:

Assessment of new patients and clinical supervision of assessments carried out by other team members
Full participation in the multidisciplinary team
Senior medical responsibility for the care carried out by the Community Mental Health Team
Review and monitoring of the caseload to ensure appropriate care packages are put in place and discharges facilitated to maintain patient flow
Contribution to the continuous development of the Community Mental Health Team
Domiciliary visits to provide assessment and treatment services
Domiciliary assessments in response to emergencies
Research, in terms of personal projects and clinical audits as part of clinical
Involvement in joint planning of future service development
Close liaison with the wards to facilitate admission and discharge
