Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced flood risk specialist to lead and deliver technically complex Flood Risk Assessment projects for a wide range of clients across the UK and internationally.

You will work across FRA, flood modelling, LLFA technical services, Water EIA and wider water environment disciplines, mentoring junior colleagues and shaping the growth of our national Sustainable Water Management team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and related skills (flood modelling, drainage strategies, Water EIA).
• Experience delivering technical inputs for planning and permitting, ideally including DCO examinations.
• A track record of successful delivery of complex, high profile projects.
• Strong understanding of the UK regulatory context for flood risk planning.
• Excellent communication skills with experience managing client and stakeholder relationships.
• Practical project management experience including budget, programme and team coordination.
• A relevant degree in environmental, geographical, science or engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Flood Risk Assessment projects, coordinating inputs from multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage client relationships and act as a key interface across planning, design and environmental teams.
• Prepare and review technical deliverables including FRA, Drainage Strategies, Water EIA inputs and supporting documents for planning and permitting.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities and contributing to successful proposals.
• Manage project budgets, programmes and quality, ensuring high standards of health and safety.
• Provide technical guidance, training and oversight for junior colleagues.
• Contribute to innovation and the continued development of WSPs capability in flood risk and the wider water environment.
