Job summary

CLdN Ports Killingholme is seeking an Assistant Workshop Manager to lead our busy engineering department, overseeing the workshop in the manager’s absence and driving improvements in safety, efficiency and cost control.

The role focuses on developing the workshop team, maintaining LOLER and PUWER compliance, analysing KPIs and reporting to senior management while liaising with terminal managers to ensure equipment availability and reliable maintenance.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience in engineering, workshop or maintenance environment; heavy plant or port terminal equipment preferred.
• Proven leadership or supervision experience; strong data reporting and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Workshop Manager and own the workshop in their absence.
• Lead, coach and develop the workshop team; drive performance and attendance to standards.
• Support HR processes including performance management and disciplinary matters where needed.
• Own workshop data and KPI reporting for senior management; manage costs and downtime.
• Ensure equipment is serviced in line with LOLER and PUWER, and maintain records.
