Job summary

CLdN Ports Killingholme requires a Night Workshop Team Leader to oversee the night engineering shift, ensuring all port plant and equipment remain safe and compliant. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, quick decision-making and ensuring readiness for day shift operations.

You will supervise the night team, plan workloads, perform inspections, and coordinate with terminal managers to minimise disruption while maintaining accurate records in the company systems.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical, plant or vehicle engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to carry out mechanical and electrical work, diagnostics and repairs.
• Experience with heavy plant and machinery (forklifts, reach stackers, RTGs or similar).
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience preferred.
• Willing to work permanent night shifts.
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the night shift engineering team and maintain plant and equipment.
• Prioritise and allocate night shift workload to maximise equipment availability.
• Liaise with Terminal Managers and Supervisors to minimise disruption.
• Ensure paperwork and service records are completed in paper or digital systems.
• Carry out planned inspections and repairs, ensuring safety and timely completion.
• Carry out H&S inspections and lone worker risk assessments as required.
