Salary: £45,830-£51,130 + £3,000 p/a market premia and £2,000 p/a retention payment | Permanent | Hybrid working

Medway Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Team Manager - Kinship and Post Order Support Team to support the delivery of high-quality practice for children and families. This is a non-case holding role focused on leadership, supervision, and service improvement within a statutory children's services setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Team Manager with leadership, oversight, and day-to-day management
  • Provide high-quality supervision to social workers and promote reflective practice
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required, including chairing meetings
  • Contribute to quality assurance, performance management, and staff development
  • Work collaboratively with partners to improve outcomes for children and families
  • Play a key role in delivering the objectives of the Assistant Team Manager - Kinship and Post Order Support Team
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Substantial post-qualifying experience within statutory children's services
  • Proven experience of supervising and supporting social workers
