Job summary

Places Developments is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Site Manager to help deliver a new development in Southampton. You will support the Site Manager, coordinate day-to-day site activity, and ensure work progresses safely, on time and to quality standards.

You will promote safe practices, monitor quality, and lead inductions for contractors and visitors. The role involves planning work packages and liaising with stakeholders to keep the project on track.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating construction activities on site.
• Strong health and safety focus with practical site leadership.
• CSCS supervisor accreditation and relevant qualifications.
• SMSTS qualification and First Aid certification are desirable.
• Knowledge of NHBC standards and building control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager with day-to-day management of construction activity and ensure delivery in line with programme, budget and quality.
• Promote safe working practices and maintain a professional site culture.
• Monitor quality and follow Build Stage Inspection processes.
• Carry out health and safety inductions for contractors and visitors.
• Plan and coordinate work packages, site activities and logistics to minimise risk.
• Work with contractors, suppliers, NHBC and stakeholders to keep progress and deadlines on track.
• Deputise for the Site Manager as required and maintain site discipline.
• Liaise with homeowners and coordinate snagging completion.
