Job summary

Southern Hospice Group operates the largest group of hospices in Sussex and among the largest in the UK, delivering compassionate care to adults, children and families. This role supports the Retail Manager to drive daily shop activity, maximise profits, and strengthen community relations.

The post focuses on customer service excellence, effective stock and promotions, and strong volunteer involvement to ensure the hospices reach their income and community engagement goals.

Qualifications

• Maximise the shop's contribution through sales from donated and new goods.
• Deliver high standards of customer service.
• Capture Gift Aid at every opportunity to maximise income.
• Assist the manager with sales promotions, stock generation activities and income from new goods.
• Foster a safe environment embracing new ideas and originality.
• Help keep the shop looking its best to deliver maximum income to the hospices.
• Coordinate volunteers and their rotas.
• Assist with recruitment, induction, training and development of volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Retail Manager to manage and co-ordinate day-to-day shop activities ensuring excellent customer service and maximising overall profit.
