Job summary

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is seeking a Bank Shop Assistant to support the shop manager in Kirklees, Calderdale and Leeds. You will help drive shop and online sales, maintain accurate pricing and listings, and lead volunteers to deliver excellent customer service and strong merchandising.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed, with a focus on community engagement and effective stock management. Salary is hourly with holiday pay and expenses.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to motivate and influence colleagues and volunteers.
• Proven team player with hands‑on approach across store functions.
• IT literate with good MS Office and computerised record-keeping.
• Ability to work flexible, unsocial hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Support shop manager to achieve sales targets and maintain merchandising standards.
• Lead a team of staff and volunteers and represent the charity in the community.
• Ensure pricing, listings and Gift Aid are accurate and up to date.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain clean, safe shop environment.
• Open/close the shop as a keyholder and manage stock intake and display.
• Assist with volunteer recruitment, training and day‑to‑day support.
• Complete admin tasks including banking and record‑keeping.
