Jago Consultants seeks an Assistant Service Manager for a main dealer motor garage in the Canterbury area of Kent. The role carries a 28k basic salary with a 36k OTE and requires leadership of a busy service team to meet business objectives.

You should bring 3+ years in a Senior Service Advisor or Workshop Controller role, demonstrate strong leadership, and be ready to act as the brand ambassador while balancing hands-on coaching with departmental oversight.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Senior Service Advisor / Workshop Controller role or similar.
• Strong leadership and brand ambassador capabilities.
• Stable career history across a relevant automotive service environment.
• Capable of hands-on coaching while overseeing the department in the manager's absence.

Assistant Service Manager required by my Main Dealer Motor Garage based in the Canterbury area of Kent.

Job Role – Assistant Service Manager

Job Location – Canterbury, Kent

Salary – 28k basic / 36k OTE

You previous experience will have been in a similar role, or perhaps a Service Manager, Workshop Controller or Senior Service Advisor.

• You will need to lead by example on a daily basis
• Have an enthusiastic and passionate personality to drive and motivate your team.
• You will be expected to help resolve staff and customer concerns as they arise and take responsibility for hitting business objectives.
• To oversee all aspects of the Service Department operations in the absence of the service manager
• To challenge and drive the performance of the front-of-house staff
• Managing, coaching and motivating employees to ensure a high quality of staff.
• Assist with Monitoring performance against agreed targets.
• Ensuring correct completion of Vehicle Health Checks, up sell conversions and follow up of unsold, deferred work process.

About You:

• Preferably a minimum of 3-years experience as a Senior Service Advisor / Workshop Controller who is highly successful in their current position or already in a similar role
• You will need to be a ‘leader’ of people and an ambassador for the brand and dealer group
• Can demonstrate a stable career path
• Be capable of balancing the hands-on approach of helping your team, along with running the department when the Service Manager is unavailable.
