Job summary

King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy is seeking an Assistant SENDCo who is dedicated, compassionate and highly organised to support pupils with SEND and work with the SENDCo to strengthen provision across the academy.

You will help identify barriers to learning, support EHCP processes, monitor progress and collaborate with teachers, families and external professionals to place pupils at the heart of our inclusive, ambitious education.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of SEND and inclusive practice.
• Excellent communication with pupils, families and staff.
• Compassionate, pupil-centred approach with high expectations.

Responsibilities

• Assist SENDCo to coordinate SEND provision across the academy.
• Support EHCP processes and statutory reviews as appropriate.
• Monitor pupil progress and liaise with teachers, families and external professionals.
