A recruitment agency is seeking an Assistant Reporting Accountant for a 3-month contract. This remote position involves supporting the finance team in managing accurate financial records, developing monitoring systems, and collaborating with budget holders. Candidates should have experience with financial reporting, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong understanding of budgetary principles. This role offers a competitive rate of £160-£180 per day, ensuring alignment with relevant financial control regulations.

Job Title – Assistant Reporting Accountant

Rate – £160‑£180 a day (Umbrella)

Working Pattern – Remote

Location – WFH

Contract Length – 3 months +

Responsibilities
  • Support the finance team in delivering accurate financial records and management information within agreed deadlines, ensuring all data meets regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain robust monitoring systems across all areas of financial control, helping to identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Collaborate with budget holders and colleagues to shape and deliver enhancements in financial processes through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with legislative changes, accounting regulations, and guidelines, proactively suggesting improvements where necessary.
  • Take ownership of queries and problems related to accounts and budgets, providing reliable support to colleagues as needed.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets by gathering relevant data, analysing trends, and supporting budget holders throughout the process.
Experience Required
  • Demonstrated experience working with accounts and budget information within a finance department or similar setting.
