Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in South Wales (Cardiff area) is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction team on residential and commercial projects.

You will support commercial management from pre-construction to final accounts, assist with cost planning, budgeting, tendering and subcontract procurement, and liaise with clients and internal teams. A relevant degree or working towards is preferred, with strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying role (Assistant or QS level).
• Background within construction (residential and/or commercial projects).
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or currently working towards.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
• Work closely with the Commercial Director and wider project teams.
• Assist with cost planning, budgeting and tender documentation.
• Manage subcontract procurement and valuations; support cost control, cash flow and reporting.
• Assist interim valuations and final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and internal teams.
