Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager (Minor Works) to join our Estates Development team and support a varied programme of refurbishment, maintenance and statutory compliance projects across the University estate.
You will manage projects from inception to completion, coordinate with academic and professional services, external consultants and contractors, and ensure safety, programme and budget compliance throughout the lifecycle.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Project Manager (Minor Works)to join our Estates Development team and support the delivery of a varied programme of refurbishment, maintenance and Statutory Compliance projects across the University’s estate.
This is an exciting opportunity for an estates, construction or building professional who enjoys managing projects within a complex operational environment and who is committed to delivering high-quality facilities that enhance the student and staff experience.
Reporting to the Head of Maintenance and Infrastruture, you will take responsibility for managing and delivering a portfolio of minor capital and revenue‑funded projects from inception through to completion.
You will act as a key interface between academic and professional service departments, external consultants, contractors and other stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within approved budgets.

You will also play an important role in ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, University policies and industry best practice throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be an organised and solutions‑focused professional with experience of delivering refurbishment, maintenance or construction projects within a complex estate environment.
You will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, quality and health and safety.
