Job summary

Liverpool John Moores University is seeking a proactive Student Success Officer to join the Faculty of Society and Culture. This role focuses on helping students engage, stay on programme and progress through their studies with proactive intervention and support.

Based primarily on campus at Mount Pleasant, with limited hybrid opportunities, you will manage a caseload, work with colleagues across services and develop inclusive student experiences, contributing to LJMU's Strategy 2030.

Qualifications

• Experience in a student-facing support, advice or guidance role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Experience with CRM or student records systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive and student-focused Student Success Officer to join the Faculty of Society and Culture. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the student experience by helping students overcome barriers to engagement, remain on programme and successfully progress through their studies through proactive intervention and support.

As a member of the Student Success Team, you will work directly with students who may be at risk of disengagement, providing tailored support through face-to-face meetings, digital communications and other interventions. You will manage a caseload of student support cases, maintain accurate records, collaborate with academic and professional services colleagues and help deliver a positive and inclusive student experience.

You will have experience in a student-facing support, advice or guidance role and be confident managing multiple priorities in a busy environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships, exercise professional judgement and support students from a wide range of backgrounds. Experience of working with electronic case management, CRM or student record systems would be advantageous.

This role is primarily campus-based within the Faculty of Society and Culture at LJMU's Mount Pleasant Campus. As the position involves regular face-to-face student engagement, case management and collaborative working with colleagues, opportunities for hybrid working are limited and the successful candidate should expect to be on campus for most of their working time.
