Job summary

Edge Hill University is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Facilities Management team, leading complex estate and infrastructure projects across academic, residential, commercial and operational facilities.

You will manage projects through full lifecycle, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality and customer experience, while aligning with university objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing complex projects in construction, refurbishment, maintenance or infrastructure.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work with consultants and contractors.
• Sound understanding of project governance, risk management and construction health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through full lifecycle from feasibility to handover and post-project review.
• Manage budgets, risks and reporting within established governance frameworks.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors to deliver on time and to budget.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and university policies.

Edge Hill University is embarking on an exciting period of estate investment and transformation. To support the delivery of a diverse programme of refurbishment, infrastructure, lifecycle and capital projects, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to join our Facilities Management team.

The University's award-winning campus is a large and complex environment, supporting thousands of students, staff and visitors every day. Working across academic, residential, commercial and operational facilities, you will play a key role in ensuring investment projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the University's strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Head of Projects & Programme Delivery, you will manage projects throughout their full lifecycle, from feasibility and stakeholder briefing through to procurement, construction, handover and post-project review. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality and customer experience.

Alongside delivering individual projects, you will contribute to long‑term maintenance and investment programmes, supporting backlog maintenance reduction, infrastructure resilience and estate improvement initiatives. You will operate within established governance frameworks, managing project risks, budgets and reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and CDM regulations.

We are looking for an experienced project professional with a strong background in construction, refurbishment, maintenance or infrastructure projects within a complex operational environment. You will have excellent stakeholder management skills, experience managing consultants and contractors, and a sound understanding of project governance, risk management and construction health and safety requirements.
