Job summary

St Austell Brewery is looking for a hands-on Deputy/Assistant General Manager to join the Pier House team in Charlestown. You will lead a passionate crew in the General Manager's absence, ensuring warm welcomes, seamless service, and consistent guest satisfaction across front and back of house.

You will oversee food quality, support the Kitchen Team, manage cash and admin tasks, and uphold health and safety standards while developing toward a future General Manager role.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead a team and deliver consistent service.
• Strong focus on guest experience and first impressions.
• Experience maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Step in for the General Manager when they are away and keep operations running smoothly.
• Create a warm welcome for guests and ensure memorable experiences.
• Monitor customer feedback and drive improvements to service delivery.
• Supervise front and back of house during peak times and support Kitchen Team.
• Oversee consistent production of high-quality food offerings and assist the Kitchen Team.
• Support team development and act as a role model for staff.
• Maintain cash handling and admin processes and ensure duties are covered when GM is away.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and promote a safe work environment.
• Develop personally with an eye toward future General Manager responsibilities.
