Job summary

Halfords in the UK’s largest motoring service network is seeking an Assistant Manager to work alongside the Centre Manager, balancing workshop duties with daily sales and customer service to drive profitability and a high quality customer journey.

You will lead by example, coach technicians, ensure health and safety standards, and help develop the team through hands-on training and progression schemes in a role that blends workshop time with store leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership.
• Experience in coaching, training, and developing colleagues in the moment.
• Strong technical/mechanical knowledge, ideally Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of workshop operations, diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance processes.
• Full, valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager in daily sales and customer service tasks.
• Lead and coach workshop staff to achieve high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
