Job summary

Halfords is seeking an Assistant Manager for our East Riding Autocentre. You will work with the Centre Manager to drive profitability, lead a team of technicians, and deliver outstanding customer journeys in a busy workshop and retail environment.

The role combines hands-on mechanic/workshop duties with managerial responsibilities, focusing on coaching staff, achieving targets, and maintaining high service standards for our customers.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership.
• Experience in coaching, training, and developing colleagues in the moment.
• Solid understanding of workshop operations, diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Centre Manager with daily sales and customer service.
• Lead and develop workshop team to improve profitability and customer outcomes.
• Balance workshop activity with hands-on maintenance and service delivery.
• Ensure health & safety compliance and quality standards are met.
