Williams Trade Supplies Limited in Chichester is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a busy team and deliver outstanding customer service in-store and over the phone. The role involves maintaining displays, stock levels and branch presentation while supporting the Branch Manager with day-to-day leadership and customer growth.

You will be involved in stock checks, banking tasks and ensuring warehouse safety, with opportunities to develop leadership skills and contribute to a growing,

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing and heating trade merchants, builders' merchants, wholesalers, trade counters, DIY or hardware environments.
• Previous exposure to working within plumbing and heating trades is highly desirable.
• Willingness to develop leadership and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain displays, branch upkeep and stock availability.
• Support the Branch Manager in maintaining and attracting new customers.
• Assist with day-to-day leadership of the team.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in person and over the phone.
• Undertake stock checks and implement control measures.
• Handle daily banking and administrative duties.
• Ensure safe operation and use of the warehouse.
• Receive, check and store incoming goods.
• Build relationships with suppliers and reps.
• Maintain a growth mindset and a focus on learning.
• Uphold Health & Safety guidelines at all times.
• Meet deadlines with a flexible approach to daily tasks.

As an Assistant Manager, you'll be:

• Updating and maintaining displays, branch upkeep, and availability of merchandise.
• Supporting the Branch Manager in maintaining and attracting new customers.
• Supporting the Branch Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the team.
• Delivering outstanding customer service both in-person and over the phone.
• Undertaking stock checks and employing control measures.
• Undertaking daily administrative duties, such as banking.
• Ensuring safe operation and use of the warehouse.
• Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods.
• Building relationships with suppliers and reps.
• Ambitious in your approach to work with a growth mindset towards learning.
• Highly accurate in your approach to work with good attention to detail.
• Respectful in upholding Health & Safety guidelines at all times.
