Job summary

St Austell Brewery’s Pedn Olver is reopening and recruiting a hands-on leader for a landmark hotel venue. You’ll guide a passionate team in a scenic bar and terraces, ensuring warm welcomes and top-tier service.

You’ll take charge in the GM's absence, develop staff, oversee food quality, and drive consistency across Front and Back of House while aiming toward General Manager responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role and hospitality background.
• Ability to motivate team and deliver excellent guest experiences.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Willingness to support and develop staff and assist GM when needed.
• Attention to detail and reliable cash/ admin management.

Responsibilities

• Take the helm when the General Manager is away and lead the team.
• Create a warm welcome for guests and ensure memorable experiences.
• Monitor customer feedback and maintain high service standards.
• Support Front and Back of House during peak times.
• Oversee quality food offering and assist Kitchen Team.
• Provide guidance to staff and help with admin and cash tasks when required.

You’ll be working at a landmark hotel that attracts visitors and locals alike to its scenic bar and sun-drenched terraces. With a world class management team and the historic success of St Austell brewer behind you, we have the role of your dream waiting.

This exciting role will see you work in an inspiring part of the world, motivating a team of passionate people while supporting and occasionally stepping in for the General Manager.

About You

• Taking the helm when the General Manager is away, you motivate team members to deliver their best and ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Creating a warm welcome to guests comes naturally to you, making every first impression count to ensure experiences delight from the get-go.
• Keeping a watchful eye over customer feedback means your team is always adapting to maintain high standards and improve where necessary.
• You go above and beyond to ensure a consistently high level of service, supporting the full team including Front and Back of House during peak times.
• You oversee the consistent production of a quality food offering and recognise the importance of the Kitchen Team.
• Having a wealth of experience in a similar role means you are able to recognise when team members need help and you’ll support where needed.
• A keen eye for detail means you keep all admin and cash management systems ticking along as they should, taking responsibility when the General Manager is away.
• You know health and safety regulations like the back of your hand.
• Team members see you as an inspiring role model and know they can depend on you for support and development.
• You take pride and responsibility for your own development, with an eye towards becoming a General Manager one day.
