Job summary

Rock Point, operated by St Austell Brewery, is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a passionate team and support the General Manager in a busy pub setting. You will drive excellent guest experiences, manage front and back of house operations, and ensure smooth daily running with strong attention to health and safety.

The role offers opportunities to develop towards a General Manager position, with a focus on people, standards, and business performance within a celebrated brewery family.

Qualifications

• Experience in a leadership role in hospitality or pub settings.
• Strong guest service and front-of-house skills.
• Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and support the team, stepping in for the General Manager as needed.
• Create a warm welcome for guests and ensure consistent service levels.
• Monitor customer feedback and adapt operations to maintain high standards.
• Oversee front and back of house during peak times and support the Kitchen Team.
• Maintain admin and cash management processes in the General Manager's absence.
• Support personal development of team members and contribute to succession planning.

About You:

• Taking the helm when the General Manager is away, you motivate team members to deliver their best and ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Creating a warm welcome to guests comes naturally to you, making every first impression count to ensure experiences delight from the get-go.
• Keeping a watchful eye over customer feedback means your team is always adapting to maintain high standards and improve where necessary.
• You go above and beyond to ensure a consistently high level of service, supporting the full team including Front and Back of House during peak times.
• You oversee the consistent production of a quality food offering and recognise the importance of the Kitchen Team.
• Having a wealth of experience in a similar role means you are able to recognise when team members need help and you’ll support where needed.
• A keen eye for detail means you keep all admin and cash management systems ticking along as they should, taking responsibility when the General Manager is away.
• You know health and safety regulations like the back of your hand.
• Team members see you as an inspiring role model and know they can depend on you for support and development.
• You take pride and responsibility for your own development, with an eye towards becoming a General Manager one day.
