Job summary

Pedn Olva, St Ives is seeking a proactive General Manager-in-training to lead our landmark venue after a multi-million pound makeover. You will inspire a passionate team, maintain exceptional guest experiences, and ensure smooth operations in our bar and restaurant areas.

You will manage front and back of house, mentor staff, uphold health and safety standards, and develop the team with an eye toward future progression to GM. Flexible working and development opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership of hospitality teams to deliver high service levels.
• Strong guest service orientation with attention to details.
• Experience with health and safety regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and step in for General Manager when needed.
• Motivate staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
• Ensure guest welcome and experiences meet brand standards.
• Monitor customer feedback and drive improvements.
• Support kitchen and FOH during peak times.

You’ll be working at a landmark hotel that attracts visitors and locals alike to its scenic bar and sun-drenched terraces. With a world class management team and the historic success of St Austell brewer behind you, we have the role of your dream waiting.

This exciting role will see you work in an inspiring part of the world, motivating a team of passionate people while supporting and occasionally stepping in for the General Manager.

About You:

• Taking the helm when the General Manager is away, you motivate team members to deliver their best and ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Creating a warm welcome to guests comes naturally to you, making every first impression count to ensure experiences delight from the get-go.
• Keeping a watchful eye over customer feedback means your team is always adapting to maintain high standards and improve where necessary.
• You go above and beyond to ensure a consistently high level of service, supporting the full team including Front and Back of House during peak times.
• You oversee the consistent production of a quality food offering and recognise the importance of the Kitchen Team.
• Having a wealth of experience in a similar role means you are able to recognise when team members need help and you’ll support where needed.
• A keen eye for detail means you keep all admin and cash management systems ticking along as they should, taking responsibility when the General Manager is away.
• You know health and safety regulations like the back of your hand.
• Team members see you as an inspiring role model and know they can depend on you for support and development.
• You take pride and responsibility for your own development, with an eye towards becoming a General Manager one day.
