Job summary

Pharmacyupdate is seeking an experienced Elderly Care professional to join a care home in St Albans as a Care Home Assistant Manager. The role includes supporting the Home Manager and Deputy, direct care duties, and supervising staff.

The successful candidate will work every other weekend with one-week-on/one-week-off pattern, two days off during weekdays when weekends are worked. Salary ranges £34,000–£36,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• Must hold at least an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
• Experience in dementia care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager and Deputy in running the home efficiently and with care.
• Supervise staff.
• Work in a direct care capacity daily.
• Be responsible to the Home Manager and represent the home as required.
• Ensure the home meets high standards for proprietors, Local Authority, Social Services and Fire Prevention.
• Assist in training staff.
• Responsible for ordering, recording, administering and disposing of the home’s medication system.
• Help maintain appropriate staffing levels and mix.

Our client is looking for an experienced Elderly Care Professional to join their team. You may be an experienced Senior Care Assistant that wants to progress to your next step or an existing Assistant Manager who is looking for their new challenge.

The successful candidate will be required to work every other weekend and one week and another week hrs. You will have two days off in the week when you do work weekends.

Main Responsibilities

• To assist the Manager and Deputy and Manager in the running of the home in an efficient and caring manner.
• Be responsible for the supervision of staff.
• Work in a direct care capacity on a day-to-day basis.
• To be directly responsible to the Home Manager, or their appointed representative in respect of all duties performed. Subject to the terms and conditions of the contract of employment.
• Ensure that the home is operating to a high standard and acceptable to the requirements of the proprietors, the Local Authority, Social Services and the Fire Prevention Officer.
• To assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate training for staff.
• To have designated responsibility for the ordering, recording, administration and disposal of the Homes medication system.
• Assisting with maintaining adequate staffing levels and the correct mix of staff.
