HC-One is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant to lead a team of care assistants across its dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. The role centres on planning personalised care, supporting residents' daily needs, and administering medication with the Registered Nurse and Care Manager.

It is a full-time day role of 33 hours per week with a strong focus on dementia care. Level 2 is preferred, with willingness to work towards Level 3; strong people skills are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ or Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Experience in dementia care is desirable or implied by role focus.

Responsabilités

• Plan and implement personalised care that supports residents' security, dignity and independence.
• Lead a team of care assistants and set the standard of care.
• Administer medication alongside the Registered Nurse and Care Manager
• Build relationships with residents and their families, including by phone.
• Provide stimulation through social and recreational activities.

What the job involves

• Lead a team of care assistants and set the standard of care

• Administer medication, assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager
• Provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities
• Support residents with everyday tasks such as walking and eating
• Maintain accurate records of care provided
• Work closely with the wider team to deliver care plans

Qualifications

• S/NVQ or Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care

Skills & knowledge

• Natural ability to get along with people and build strong relationships

• Ability to recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and report concerns

Checks & eligibility

• Enhanced DBS or PVG check

Nice to have

• Background in person-centred care planning
• Knowledge of caring for people with dementia
• Level 3 in Adult Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it
