Job summary

Williams & Co. in Petersfield is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the trade-only plumbing and heating merchant team. You will support the Branch Manager, provide excellent customer service, and help drive sales and customer growth.

The role involves admin duties, stock management, displays upkeep, and maintaining supplier relationships in a busy branch environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Branch Manager with day-to-day team leadership.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in-person and by phone.
• Help maintain and attract new customers.
• Carry out daily admin duties including banking and MIS.
• Update displays, keep the branch tidy and stock available.
• Conduct stock checks and implement control measures.
• Ensure safe operation of the warehouse and receiving goods.
• Build relationships with suppliers and reps.

Salary: Up to £34,000per annum DOE

Hours: 40 /week MON-FRI 08:30-17:00 / 07:00-15:30 ROTA*NO WEEKENDS!

Here at Williams, an independent trade-only plumbing and heating merchant, we're looking for an Assistant Manager to join our busy and friendly team in Petersfield!

If you also have previous exposure of working within a plumbing and heating merchants, builders' merchants or wholesaler, trade counter, DIY, Hardware, or on the tools in the plumbing and heating trade, we would LOVE to hear from you!

As an Assistant Manager, you'll be:

• Supporting the Branch Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the team.

• Delivering outstanding customer service both in-person and over the phone.

• Supporting the Branch Manager in maintaining and attracting new customers.

• Undertaking daily administrative duties, such as banking & management information systems.

• Updating and maintaining displays, branch upkeep, and availability of merchandise.

• Undertaking stock checks and employing control measures.

• Ensuring safe operation and use of the warehouse.

• Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods.

• Building relationships with suppliers and reps.

Ideally, you are:

• Ambitious in your approach to work with a growth mindset towards learning.
