Job summary

Big Mamma Group in London is seeking an Assistant Manager to report to the Front-of-House Manager and embody our values of excellence, meritocracy, entrepreneurship, and authenticity in the restaurant every day.

In this full-time role, you will drive service quality, guest satisfaction and staff development while ensuring efficient front-of-house operations and cost control during peak service times.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellence, consistency, and speed of service.
• Welcome guests and maintain dining room standards.
• Optimize table turnover / service pace and staff efficiency for resetting tables.
• Coach and support the front-of-house team daily and drive team cohesion.
• Participate in recruitment and onboarding of new hires.
• Oversee schedules, orders and stock management (wine, tableware) and cash handling.

With the group's continued growth, we are looking for our next rising star: as an **Assistant Manager**, you will report to the Front-of-House Manager and embody our values of excellence, meritocracy, entrepreneurship, and authenticity in the restaurant every day.. .

Your areas of responsibility

Responsible for service quality

• Ensure excellence, consistency, and speed of service, in line with the Big Mamma vision.. .
• Responsible for welcoming guests.. .

Contribute to the restaurant's performance

• Optimize table turnover / service pace and staff efficiency for resetting tables.. .
• Ensure the average check meets targets through staff briefings, sales training requests when needed, performance monitoring of section heads, and individual coaching.. .

Ensure smooth front-of-house operations

• Ensure compliance with dining room hygiene standards.. .
• Propose initiatives to control front-of-house labor costs.. .
• Oversee team schedules.. .
• Responsible for orders and stock management (wine, tableware, aprons).. .
• Responsible for cash handling.. .
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment.. .

Responsible for the success of the front-of-house team

• Participate in the recruitment process for new hires.. .
• Support the onboarding of new team members.. .
• Coach and support the front-of-house team daily.. .
• Be a key driver of team cohesion and positive working relationships.. .
