Job summary

Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association Limited in Aberdeen seeks an Assistant Housing Officer to support delivery of a high-quality housing service. The role covers tenancy services, ASB handling and estate management while ensuring regulatory compliance and resident satisfaction.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, with a salary of £30,678–£32,293. The position supports community cohesion and safe, quality homes across Sanctuary in Scotland.

Qualifications

• Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Scottish National 5.
• SVQ2 in relevant area.
• Some experience delivering high quality tenancy services.
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Full valid driving licence.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a quality housing management service for residents and community.
• Coordinate low-level ASB, arrears and estate management cases per policy.
• Meet legislative and regulatory requirements for housing management.
• Build relationships with stakeholders, residents and agencies to improve service.
• Assist with managing complaints, focusing on first contact resolution.
• Update records to comply with data protection policies.

Assistant Housing Officer

£30,678 - £32,293 per year

37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Housing Officer to join our team in Aberdeen, to support the delivery of a high-quality housing service that meets the identified needs of our customers in accordance with the Sanctuary in Scotland business plan. This job sits within Sanctuary in Scotland which provides a range of quality, affordable homes including general rented, sheltered and shared equity accommodation within Scotland.

The role of Assistant Housing Officer will include:

• Supporting the delivery of a quality housing management service that meets the needs and expectations of current/future residents and the wider community
• Supporting the coordination of low-level ASB, Arrears and Estate Management cases in line with the prescribed policies and practices ensuring that remedial action is taken to build community cohesion
• Meeting all legislative and regulatory requirements for housing management activities, ensuring the provision of quality and safe homes for Sanctuary in Scotland customers and to minimise potential risks
• Developing, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, residents, staff and external agencies, to ensure the effective management of housing services, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensure these are acted upon
• Supporting the management of all complaints for service area in line with policy, focussing on first contact resolution and the identification of future learning opportunities to achieve customer service excellence
• Updating and maintaining all manual and computerised records in an accurate and timely manner to ensure compliance with the Group’s Record Management and Data Protection policies

Skills and experiences:

• Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Scottish National 5

• Some experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
• Working knowledge of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
• Working knowledge of effective communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

• Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is preferred
