Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Aberdeen is seeking an Assistant Housing Officer to support the delivery of high-quality housing services in Scotland. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary in the mid-£30k range and a package designed to recognise contribution and wellbeing.

You will work within Sanctuary in Scotland to provide affordable homes across general rented, sheltered and shared equity options.

Qualifications

• Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Scottish National 5.
• SVQ2 in relevant area is required.
• Some experience of delivering high-quality tenancy services.
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads.
• Good communication skills and basic IT proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a quality housing management service for residents and the community.
• Coordinate low-level ASB, arrears and estate management cases per policies.
• Ensure compliance with housing regulations and maintain safe homes.
• Build relationships with residents, staff and external agencies to improve service delivery.
• Assist with handling complaints following policy and driving continuous learning.
• Maintain accurate records in line with data protection and record management policies.

37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Housing Officer to join our team in Aberdeen, to support the delivery of a high-quality housing service that meets the identified needs of our customers in accordance with the Sanctuary in Scotland business plan. This job sits within Sanctuary in Scotland which provides a range of quality, affordable homes including general rented, sheltered and shared equity accommodation within Scotland.

The role of Assistant Housing Officer will include:

• Supporting the delivery of a quality housing management service that meets the needs and expectations of current/future residents and the wider community
• Supporting the coordination of low-level ASB, Arrears and Estate Management cases in line with the prescribed policies and practices ensuring that remedial action is taken to build community cohesion
• Meeting all legislative and regulatory requirements for housing management activities, ensuring the provision of quality and safe homes for Sanctuary in Scotland customers and to minimise potential risks
• Developing, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, residents, staff and external agencies, to ensure the effective management of housing services, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensure these are acted upon
• Supporting the management of all complaints for service area in line with policy, focussing on first contact resolution and the identification of future learning opportunities to achieve customer service excellence
• Updating and maintaining all manual and computerised records in an accurate and timely manner to ensure compliance with the Group’s Record Management and Data Protection policies

Skills and experiences:

• Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Scottish National 5
• SVQ2 in relevant area
• Some experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
• Working knowledge of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
• Working knowledge of effective communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to extract and interrogate data
• Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is preferred
