The East Putney Tavern on Upper Richmond Road is hiring an Assistant General Manager to drive daily operations and lead a quality hospitality team. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure excellent guest experiences and staff development across a three-floor pub/restaurant.

Responsibilities include operations, supervision, customer relations, quality assurance, compliance, and financial oversight. A positive, energetic leader is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a managerial role within a pub, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and problem solving abilities.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in daily operations, opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
• Lead, train, and motivate team members; assist with scheduling and performance reviews.
• Ensure an outstanding customer experience; proactively address issues and build relationships with regular guests.
• Uphold high standards in food, drink, and service quality; work with kitchen/bar teams to maintain consistency.
• Ensure health, safety, and licensing regulations are strictly adhered to.
• Assist in managing budgets, monitoring expenses, and analyzing performance data to optimize operations.
